Wet spell in Kerala to continue, educational institutions to remain closed

With the predictions of heavy spells to continue in the coming days, the state authorities have been advised to declare a holiday for all the schools and other academic institutions.

The India Meteorological department has issued an advisory that tonight Thiruvananthapuram will get two more heavy spells.

Most rivers will remain in high spate tomorrow too. The Northern Kerala will have more spells tomorrow too.

Fishermen have been warned about strong winds along the Kerala coast and over Lakshadweep area during the next 24 hours.

Meanwhile, heavy rain today lashed Kerala causing widespread damage, landslip and water-logging in various parts.

With the South West monsoon active over the state, incessant rains triggered landslip in the tribal hamlet of Attappady and adjacent areas in Palakkad district this morning but no one was injured.
