Bill Gates has revealed he is afraid of an epidemic far worse than Ebola, that would rapidly wipe out millions of people worldwide.

The American business magnate said that the recent Ebola outbreak showed that the world wasn't ready to face a serious epidemic that would be more infectious and would spread faster than last time.

However, this was the greatest risk of a huge tragedy that could claim lives of over 10 million people in a year, News.co.au reported.

The Microsoft inventor added that if the death chart of 20th century was analysed, then it would be evitable that Spanish Influenza, that killed more than 65 million people, was the greatest spike even if compared to WWII, although no one knew where it started.

He explained that people around the world pick military to their pump money into instead of investing in global health and epidemic preparation.

Gates concluded that nations should together step up for epidemic emergencies and should lower down their nuclear investments, as chances of nuclear war happening was once in a lifetime compared to epidemic that endangers mankind.
