Former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that he once had tricked West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce into drinking a fruit drink instead of red wine.
Ferguson reckons he invented the tradition of managers sharing a bottle of wine after games as a mark of respect.
According to the Mirror, the Scot revealed that he once fooled the former player into drinking blackcurrant squash Ribena instead of red wine during his 25th year at United, when Allardyce bought him a 1986 Chateau Latour.
Ferguson quipped that after he showed Allardyce the juice bottle instead of the wine, Allardyce bolted out of the door like a 'wild man', screaming for his kit manager.
