Australian fast bowling legend Jeff Thomson admitted that Sir Don Bradman was the most remarkable batsman he has ever bowled to, adding that he was astounded to see the legendary batsman lashing his famous shots at the age of 70 in a backyard match in Adelaide in 1978.
Recalling his encounter with Bradman during the 1978 match, former Australian quick said that initially he thought he had just better bowl his leg spinners as it wouldn't look too good in the newspaper if he killed Don Bradman in a game of backyard cricket, News.com.au reported.
Thomson further said that Bradman had nothing but a bat, not even protector, no pads or anything on a green turf wicket, and he was gobsmacked to see Bradman flogging two young bowlers for 20 minute, the report added.
Thomson, who is widely regarded as the fastest bowler of all-time, added that if anyone doubts how good a batsman Bradman was, they should go and see him there.
