Vanessa Williams recently said that Meryl Streep took away her 'Into the Woods' role.
Williams had played the role of 'The Witch' in the Broadway revival of Stephen Sondheim's "Into the Woods," in 2002, but when the show got its way to the big screen, Streep was signed for the part, Fox News reported.
The 51-year-old Broadway actress said that she would have loved to re-do the role as she loved the show which had a great run.
Williams further added that it has always been a trend that Broadway actors got replaced by Hollywood stars, but every actor should be given a chance to show their talent.
