NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden has reportedly agreed to 'observe the condition' put forth by Russian President Vladimir Putin to claim temporary asylum in Russia.

Russian President Vladimir Putin had earlier put this condition that Snowden must stop leaking secret data about US intelligence if he wants to claim asylum in Russia.

Anatoly Kucherena, a lawyer with strong links with the Kremlin who helped Snowden with the paperwork said that Snowden has agreed 'fulfill Putin's condition' that he will stop 'harming' the US by releasing intelligence secrets, the Politico reports.

Due to lack of travel documents to claim Latin American asylum offers, Snowden had to file for a request in Russia itself, where he has been holed up for nearly three weeks at Sheremetyevo airport's transit area.

Meanwhile, US has repeated its stand on Snowden being a 'fugitive' and has asked for his extradition to US for having leaked classified information, the report added.
