Johnny Depp's new film, which is based on the book 'Black Mass
The Warner Bros. and Creek crime drama, which will be helmed by director Scott Cooper, will see Depp, 51, portray the Boston gangster Whitey Bulger, the Hollywood Reporter reported.
The untitled project, which was originally called 'Black Mass', also stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Joel Edgerton, Kevin Bacon, Adam Scott, Dakota Johnson, Juno Temple and Jesse Plemons.
