The Congress Party on Thursday criticised Union Telecommunications Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad for his statement that telecom towers do not pose a health hazard and questioned the absence of such towers near government offices or residences of the government officials.
"It's shocking that Ravi Shankar Prasad said yesterday that Telecom Towers aren't a hazard to people's health," Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) chief Ajay Maken told media at a press conference here.
"They are advising that telecom towers should be established, but somehow none of them have telecom towers near their offices or residences," he added.
Lashing out at telecom operators for the persisting call drops menace, Prasad had earlier said that they must offer good services to the customers if they want any help from the government.
