'Why no sign of Jan Lokpal', Congress asks Kejriwal

The Congress Party on Tuesday questioned why there was no sign of the Jan Lokpal even 120 days after the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government came to power.

"It's been 120 days since AAP came to power, there is no sign of Jan Lokpal, no signs of Lokayukta. It's not only the law minister, there are eight other MLAs against whom there are cases in different police stations," senior Congress leader Ajay Maken told ANI.

"What will happen to complaints against those eight MLAs, if there is no Lokayukta?" he added.

The Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP government in Delhi has been battling a fresh crisis ever since its minister Jitender Singh Tomar was arrested and sent to four-day police custody.

Tomar had been facing allegations of submitting forged education certificates while filing his nomination for the Delhi Assembly polls. He resigned as the Delhi Law Minister yesterday.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), however, has alleged that Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung, the Delhi Police and the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA Government at the Centre were trying to 'scare' the city's government by using court cases and arrests.
