The wife of a farmer who committed suicide recently, allegedly immolated herself in front of her husband's body in a field in Gujarat's Rajkot District.
Police officer, P. C. Chudasama, said the 34-year-old farmer, identified as Haresh Rabadia, was distressed.
"Hareshbhai Jasmatbhai Rabadia, a 34-year-old farmer and a resident of Bhader Village, wrote a suicide note on April 28, Tuesday, he was fed with his life. He has no complaint with anybody. Later, he committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree in a crop field. His wife self-immolated herself while the probe was going on. Police has registered both the cases and an investigation is underway," said Chudasama.
Bhavisha, 31, reportedly excused herself to a room in her house, where Haresh's body was kept, under the pretext of feeding her six-month-old baby and burnt herself alive.
Few minutes later, the family members saw flames and smoke coming out of the room and rushed there only to find Bhavisha severely burnt. She died on the spot.
