The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have reportedly changed their mind on childcare and are "actively" looking for a nanny.

According to British magazine Grazia, Duchess Kate was determined to be a hands on mom to their new born son, Prince George, and had refused to hire a nanny, but the royal couple has realized that they do need help and have started looking for it, News.com.au reported.

Sources revealed that one of the Duchess' best friends from Marlborough and most trusted confidante, Alice Alvenel has already been helping her with her month-old son.

The royal couple, which is currently residing in Anglesey, North Wales, while William completes his final weeks as a pilot with the British Royal Air Force, is apparently looking for someone trustworthy and very well experienced

Sources added that the Duchess, who is apparently looking forward to moving back to London once their apartments at Kensington Palace have been refurbished, will rely on word-of-mouth on hiring someone to assist her and may not go for a live-in nanny.

Catherine is due to return to her royal duties on September 12.
