Responding to President Pranab Mukhejee's address to the joint session of the Parliament on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said that his government will make all efforts to implement its agenda.
"We will work towards doing everything stated in our agenda. The government belongs to the poor people of the country. We are custodian of people's hope," said Modi.
"Everybody appreciated the mandate we got in the elections. It is after so many years that people have a voted for a stable government, good governance and growth," he added.
He also said that the government will work towards fulfilling the dreams of the people, and added that it is time that India shows its strength of being a democracy in front of the world.
Raising the issue of poverty, Modi said, "The biggest weapon to fight poverty is education. The government's scheme should help the poor in fighting poverty and to come out of it."
"I am not here to criticize any government. But it is our responsibility to give importance to problems of the farmers and poor," he added.
