Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) leader Hardik Patel on Wednesday said he will support Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar during the upcoming assembly polls in the state since he belongs to his community.

"Nitish Kumar is from our community, so, we will support him, but we do not support the JD(U)," Patel told a press conference here.

"We are demanding reservation for the development of our society. In Gujarat, we are demanding 27 percent reservation for OBCs. This is a fight for our rights and not for scoring political brownie points. People are just making it a political issue, but we are only fighting for reservation for backwards," he added.

Hardik was the face of the Patel agitation which practically brought Gujarat to a standstill earlier this month.
