Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Friday said he will take all necessary steps for the sake of farmers in the state, including asking for financial assistance from the central government to overcome the current agrarian crisis.
"We have decided that the farmers who have suffered losses will be compensated. We have Rs.1000 crores for this, but we are not limiting ourselves to an amount of money. We are closely monitoring the situation and will take all necessary steps for the sake of farmers," Chouhan told ANI here.
"We will ask for financial assistance from the central government in the form of a memorandum within 15 days," he added.
