Newly inducted Union Health Minister JP Nadda said here on Monday that he had been given a huge responsibility by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and would try his best to live up to the latter's expectations.

"I have been given a huge responsibility by Prime Minister Modi. I will try to my best to live up to his expectation. I will meet and talk to all the stake holders and people working in this field and after that only I will decide about the pending bills," he added.

Nadda was given the Health and Family Welfare portfolio, while previous incumbent Dr. Harsh Vardhan was shifted to the Science and Technology and Earth Sciences Ministry. Dr. Jitendra Singh now has independent charge of the Ministry for the Development of the North Eastern Region.
