A speculation has started in political and media circles of Pakistan about whether the present President Asif Ali Zardari will return to the country after his Dubai-London trip or not.
The Gulf News reports that Zardari's five-year term is due to end on September 8.
According to the report, Zardari had earlier denied seeking re-election because of the loss of a parliamentary majority.
A successor for Zardari will soon be elected will be elected early next month by an electoral college comprising federal and provincial lawmakers, report added.
Senator Farhatullah Babar, the president's spokesman, has although denied any such perceptions while saying 'why he would leave his office even one day before the expiry of his five-year term'.
