The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were reportedly offered prams, cars and even holidays but declined to accept them, as they did not want to be seen as freeloaders.

According to royal sources, the couple's post bag was left with no place inside after Kate's pregnancy was announced and got even bigger since the future king, Prince George, was born just over a month ago.

The staff of Kensington Palace has spent hours sending back gifts from businesses.

Rolls-Royce, Audi and Lexus had wanted to send new vehicle, while fashion houses delivered designer gear, the Daily Star reported.

Foreign governments and holiday firms had offered luxury trips to the couple, both 31 and even Kim Kardashian wanted to send Kate some designer clothes.

A spokesman said that the couple's website had made it clear that gifts are not going to accepted and any sent will be given to charity if the return postage cost is excessive.
