Wimbledon 2015: Djokovic issues apology for angry outburst

World number one Novak Djokovic, who survived a major scare against Kevin Anderson in his fourth-round match in Wimbledon on Tuesday, says he will apologise to a ball girl after appearing to shout at her.

The top seeded player vented his anger in the girl's direction before going on to secure an epic 6-7 (6-8) 6-7 (6-8) 6-1 6-4 7-5 win against the South African.

Djokovic said that he was sorry but it was nothing towards her and it might be a case where she was just afraid of his screaming, the BBC reported.

He insisted that he would be definitely issue an apology to her if he did something wrong.

 

The defending champion had to play the final set of his last-16 match on Tuesday after bad light halted the contest at two sets apiece the previous evening.

Djokovic will now be facing ninth seed Marin Cilic in the quarter-finals on Wednesday.
