The All England Lawn Tennis Club has issued heat warnings to spectators and players, asking them to take measures to combat temperatures which are expected to easily exceed 30 Celsius today.

"We'll be advising visitors to drink plenty of water, wear a hat and apply sun screen," the Guardian quoted a Wimbledon spokesman as saying.

Teams of St John Ambulance volunteers have been placed and would be on hand to deal with potential fainting and heatstroke, both for the players and the spectators.

The official forecast predicts that the temperature will approach 30C today and will feel hotter with little breeze.

The local forecast have also predicted that the temperature will climb the low 30s on Wednesday and it would be 'hot and humid' with a 'low risk' of an afternoon thunderstorm.
