Nick Kyrgios has accused Australian Olympic swimming great Dawn Fraser as a 'blatant racist' after she said players like him should 'go back to where their parents came from' if they cannot behave.

Australian Kyrgios, who has a Greek father and Malaysian mother, was criticised in his country for his on-court antics when he was beaten by Richard Gasquet at Wimbledon on Wednesday.

It appeared as if Kyrgios stopped trying during his defeat by Richard Gasquet at the Championships, the BBC reports.

He was also given a code violation for bad language.

However, Fraser has rubbished Kyrgios for calling her a racist.

Fraser, who won the 100m freestyle at three successive Olympic Games from 1956 to 1964, said that it was absolutely disgusting, adding that she was shocked to think that he went out there to play and he tanked.

The 77-year-old added the players should be setting a better example for the younger generation of their country.
