West Indies coach Phil Simmons has reportedly banned his players from being interviewed by Caribbean radio commentator Fazeer Mohammed after he made robust remarks about the islanders' current plight in the international cricket.

The decision came in the wake of the questions Mohammed raised about the team's preparation for the Boxing Day Test against Australia in an interview with a Barbados radio station.

According to Stuff.co.nz, the radio commentator had claimed that the tourists lacked intensity and purpose in contrast to the Australian side.

Earlier in September, Simmons was also banned after he pointed out the selector's decision for the Sri Lanka tour.

West Indies had earlier received widespread criticism on their body language ,with veteran batsman Marlon Samuels largely looking disinterested on the field during their humiliating innings and 212-run defeat against Australia in the opening Test in Hobart.
