A woman has given birth outside a hospital in Pakistan's Raiwind town after she was denied treatment by the hospital staff.

The lady staff of Tehsil Headquarters Hospital (THQ) in Raiwind refused to attend Sameera Bibi, who was experiencing severe labour pains saying that "there were no doctors available at the hospital in the early hours of the morning," The Dawn reported.

According to the bystanders at the scene, there was no ambulance available and by the time it arrived, the child had already been born.

Pakistan's Punjab Minister for Health Khawaja Imran Nazir said guilty will not be spared.

The provincial ministry has ordered an inquiry in this regard.

"No doctor or staff member involved in the incident will be spared and a committee has been formed to look into this matter," Nazir said.

However, the child and the woman both are safe, the THQ Medical Superintendent Doctor Amir said.

The hospital is located near ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif's residence in Raiwind.
