Women Congress workers gathered in front of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters to demand the removal of Minister of State for Chemical and Fertilisers, Nihal Chand Meghwal, who is an accused in a sexual assault case.

Congress leader Shobha Oza told ANI "On one side, Modi is talking about zero tolerance on crimes against women, and on the other side, a Cabinet minister, who has been issued summons by a court in relation to a rape case, still remains a minister this shows the actual face of the BJP government."

Promises made by Modi, she said, had "proved to be hollow and his actual face was now coming in front of the women from India."

A 20-year-old married woman had filed a complaint accusing her husband and his friends, including the Union Minister, of sexual assault.
