The women in the north-east have become self reliant these days and started new ventures besides training the youth to start their own business.
35-years-old Joyetta Chaudhury, a successful entrepreneur from Assam, runs a bakery business and teaches youth to start their business.
She runs "Delice Bakery and Confectionary Food Item Shop" at Hengbari in Guwahati and specializes in producing cakes, cookies, Ice-creams, pastries, muffins and breads.
Chaudhury, who has been running the bakery and confectionery business for the past 15 years, said that there is a lot of scope for the people to start similar business.
For the last 15 years, I have been working in this line. So, I have seen that there is a lot of scope. Whoever is interested in this line can come out as an entrepreneur and can do some business. If they have potential or skills, they can make their own identity.
Joyetta, who also teaches baking, fruit and vegetable carving to the local youth, recently organized a workshop at the Northeast Development Finance Corporation Limited (NEDFi) facility in Guwahati.

She said the aim of this workshop was to encourage the youth in Assam to become self-reliant.
"I thought it's a great platform to guide them. So, I organized this workshop and I am so lucky that I could bring here top chefs from other states," she added.
Meanwhile, Sunil, a co-worker, said there has been good demand for their products in Guwahati.
"There are so many customers who come from far off places to buy cakes and other items from our shop. Madam taught us very well. Earlier we did not know about such recipes; now, we have learnt many things from her," he added.
The youth in north-east have great potential and there is need to channelize their energy towards exploring new business ideas.
