Ever since 'Fifty Shades of Grey' premiered, the demand of BDSM porn amongst women has skyrocketed.
The research team at Pornhub reported nearly a 40 percent increase in BDSM-related searches among users who identify as women, the Mashable reported.
They broke down the BDSM search by gender, and found marked disparities between searches by women vs. those by men. While there was a surprising 219 percent increase in searches for the word "submission" among women, it was a mere 46 percent increase among men.
The word "dominate" was up by 196 percent among women, and only a 32 percent in men. "Spanking" too received a 158 percent increase among women, as opposed to a meager 5 percent increase among men.
Apart from gender-breakdowns, BDSM-related searches were over only 20 percent in the U.S. since the film's premiere, with terms like "flogging," "rope" and "dominatrix" showing notable increases.
