Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday instructed the Chief Secretary and the Director General of Police (DGP) to review women's security in the state on every Monday.
He gave this instruction while chairing a meeting here with senior officials on women's security.
Chouhan said it is the responsibility of the police to create such an atmosphere in the entire state that women should feel safe even after midnight on the roads.
To ensure public transport, the Chief Minister said the buses will also have other arrangements including CCTV cameras.
Instructions have been given to the police for checking the sensitive places in all the cities and villages of the state.

These places will be patrolled with proper arrangement of light.
In addition to this, those liquor shops will be closed that are located near girls' colleges, schools and hostels. Chouhan also directed the officials to do counseling of girls' hostel wardens and also gave instructions to monitor such sites.
The Chief Minister also instructed to do police verification of the drivers and operators of the school buses.
Chouhan also told officials to give to widespread publicity to women's protection laws.
