Woods' agent lambasts 'ridiculous' reports on golfer's health

Tiger Woods' agent Mark Steinberg has described negative reports on the health of the former world number one golfer as 'ridiculous' and 'absolutely false.'

Earlier, Twitter posts from two different accounts, including of long time golf writer Robert Lusetich, suggested that the 14-time major champion's health condition had deteriorated and that his rehabilitation was not going well.

Denying the accuracy of these reports, Steinberg insisted that Woods was continuing to work on his rehabilitation and that they would have an accurate update at the appropriate time, Sport24 reported.

Lusetich posted in a tweet:"I'm told #TigerWoods condition worsened. He can't move well; painful to sit. Sits in car with seat fully reclined. No foreseeable return. Sad."

The 40-year-old American golfer hasn't played competitively since August last year. He underwent a surgery on September to deal with a disk fragment that was pinching a nerve, and six weeks later underwent another procedure to address continuing discomfort.

Woods saw his form take a dip after suffering a series of back injuries since 2013.
