American professional golfer Tiger Woods reportedly withdrew from the Honda Classic in the middle of the final round citing lower back injury and spasms as the reason for his leaving.
Woods reportedly walked off when he was 13 shots behind Rory McIlroy, after shaking hands with Luke Guthrie on the 13 th hole.
According to Stuff.co.nz, Woods, who was to defend his title next week in the Cadillac Championship, said that it was 'too early' to say if he would play next week at Doral, as he would try to 'calm' the pain down.
Woods, who has reportedly played only 11 rounds at portions of four tournaments, said that the spasms were similar to what he felt at The Barclays, where he had dropped to his knees after hitting one shot.
This is the second time in two years that Woods has quit in the middle of the final round, the first time being at Doral where he quit after 11 holes and then went on to win the Bay Hill title two weeks later of his first PGA Tour title after his return from the chaos in his personal life.
