Woods fires warning to 'in-form' Spieth ahead of Open Championship

Former world number one golfer Tiger Woods has warned tournament favourite Jordan Spieth to underestimate the fluctuating conditions at St Andrews at his own peril.

Woods, the three-time Open Championship winner, believes that although Spieth has won two majors and a warm up event at John Deere Classic, the 21-year-old American might find himself underprepared at the Old Course due to his lack of exposure.

Woods said that although one could see the course on a simulator, it does help seeing the course under different winds. He added that it could be very difficult to adjust to the wind conditions.

The 14-time major champion said that seeing the course in varied wind conditions is essential, insisting that a five-degree wind change at St Andrews changes the whole course completely, the Daily Express reported.

Woods, now ranked 241st in the world, had earlier said that he has what it takes to lift the Open once again despite his recent struggles with form and injuries.
