FIFA World Cup hangover has been seemingly blamed for the 20 percent nationwide rise in people calling in sick for work.
Peter Mooney, head of consultancy at Employment Law Advisory Services said that probably drunken people who knew they will suffer through hangover and severe headache the next morning of the game were calling in sick so they do not have to go for work, the Daily Star reported.
Mooney further said that when the weather was good, more suspicious sick calls were likely to be received.
