A Brazilian teen has been crowned the world's fastest texter by Guinness World Records after he thrashed out a 25-word paragraph in just 18.19 seconds.
16-year-old Marcel Fernandes Filho from Brazil claimed a place in the record books with an error-free typing speed equivalent to 82.5 words per minute, News.com.au reported.
The teen took on the challenge with a Samsung Galaxy S4 using a mobile app called Fleksy which is designed to make texting easier through a larger on-screen keypad that's more like a PC and had to type out the paragraph: "The razor-toothed piranhas of the genera Serrasalmus and Pygocentrus are the most ferocious freshwater fish in the world. In reality they seldom attack a human."
With Filho's much more successful attempt he was able to pip previous record holder, a Microsoft employee, by 0.25 seconds.
