An Indian woman, who made headlines by becoming the 'world's oldest first-time mother', has revealed that having her daughter has helped her live longer.
Rajo Devi Lohan, 74, gave birth to Naveen, now five, following controversial IVF treatment in 2008, the Sun reported.
Despite a short period of ill-health, Lohan has proved her critics wrong after they said she was too old to raise a child.
The mum-of-one revealed to the publication that her final wish to see her daughter getting married is giving her the strength to fight on and live to see the special day.
She said that Naveen is a gift to her from God and until she gets her married at the age of 15, she cannot afford to die.
Desperate Lohan, who took out loans to pay for the 2,000 pounds fertility treatment, fell ill and almost died from complications related to her IVF after giving birth.
The old age pensioner lives with her daughter in the remote village of Hissar, India, with her husband Ballo and his second, younger wife Umi.
