Rio Olympics silver-medallist P.V Sindhu will aim to book her place in the summit showdown of the Dubai World Super Series Finals when she takes on Sung Ji Hyun of South Korea in the last-four contest here today.
The ace Indian shuttler yesterday took her revenge of the heart-breaking loss at the Rio Olympics to two-time World Champion Carolina Marin of Spain with a thrilling straight-sets victory in do-or-die women's singles Group B contest.
Sindhu produced an energetic performance to fend off a fighting Marin 21-17, 21-13 in a hard-fought quarter-final contest that lasted 46 minutes.
With this win, PV?Sindhu finished second in the Group B behind China's Sun Yu, who won all the three matches she played so far.
Meanwhile, Ji Hyun stormed into the semi-finals after registering a 21-15, 21-17 win over Chinese Taipie's Tai Tzu Ying in a contest that lasted 38 minutes.
The other last-four contest will see Tai Tzu Ying taking on Sun Yu for a place in the finals.
In November, Sindhu defeated Ji Hyun 11-21, 23-21, 21-19 in 84 minutes to enter the China Open final.
