"The SDGs mirror India's developmental goals"- said Prime Minister Narendra Modi before adding "We are committed to a sustainable path to prosperity; that is rooted in our culture" in his address to the United Nations General Assembly at the Sustainable Development Goals summit in September 2015.
Goal 17 of the SDGs titled 'Partnerships for the Goals' encourages organisations, institutions and governments to build partnerships towards achieving the goals and this is precisely the path that Indian educational organisations and schools are taking.
Worldview Education has partnered with prestigious schools across the country to send their student delegations on a Global Citizenship journey to the United States of America. In January-February of 2018, over 300 students in the 13-17 age group and 30 educators are going on the Worldview Future Leaders Program to develop a deeper understanding about the various issues affecting the world today and to get together with students from across the world to forge a way forward to solving them.
The students will join more than 4000 students coming from 60 countries to discuss, debate, deliberate various topics highlighted under the SDGs such as Clean Energy, Arms Control, Gender Equality, the Refugee Crisis, Education with the objective of finding solutions that are globally acceptable and locally implementable.
In addition to participating in the Model United Nations sessions organised by Harvard IRC, Yale IRA and the World Federation of UN Associations, students will also be visiting and interacting with experts and diplomats at prestigious think-tanks such as CATO Institute and US Permanent Mission to the United Nations, where they will get invaluable insight into the possible action that can be taken for making progress on issues today.

Some of the school delegations that are part of the Future Leaders Program include The Doon School, Mayo College Girls' School, Modern School Vasant Vihar, St Gregorios High School Mumbai, Mallya Aditi International School, Vidya Shilp Academy, Rajagiri Public School, Happy Valley School, Podar School Sangli, St George's College.
