The Janata Dal United (JD (U)) on Sunday expressed its disappointment over the absence of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) from Sunday's Janata Pariwar organised Swabhiman Rally in Patna.
"It would have been nice if the NCP would have joined us. They remain a friend to us," said JD (U) leader K C Tyagi.
Tyagi also said that a new kind of politics which opposes the BJP will be starting from Gandhi Maidan in Patna today.
"This alliance of the Janata Pariwar in Bihar is ready to accept any challenge from the BJP," he added.
Leaders of the JD(U), the Rashtriya Janata Dal and the Congress Party - Nitish Kumar, Lalu Yadav and Sonia Gandhi - will address a Swabhiman Rally organized by the Mahagatbhandan alliance of the Janata Pariwar.
Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, who heads the Janata Pariwar, has said that he will not attend a rally, and will be represented by his brother Shivpal Singh Yadav.
