Xbox multimedia executive Blair Westlake has resigned from Microsoft citing the reason that the company is moving in a direction which does not suites his expertise and strengths.

Westlake said that it has become clear to him that the organization is moving in a direction that does not fit either his expertise or his skill sets, but did not reveal any further details, Cnet reports.

Westlake has spent nearly 10 years at Microsoft and has been a longtime corporate vice president at the firm spearheading the company's media partnerships and looking after licensing of TV shows and movies for Xbox platforms.

He has been also instrumental in helping the Xbox platform become a destination for movies and TV, and not just games.
