Tech giant Microsoft is reportedly accused of causing inconvenience to the remaining XP users with an irritating popup.

The popup bugs users who run Microsoft's free security software called the Microsoft Security Essentials.

According to Stuff.co.nz, A popup warns the users that XP support is about to end soon and directs them to a page with information on upgrading the OS.

There is no confirmed way to stop this popup other than turning off the Microsoft Security Essentials, which will leave users exposed to malware.

Window XP is still the second most-popular OS for desktops with countless users worldwide.
