Yahoo Inc. has unveiled its new logo for the first time since it was founded 18 years ago.
The redesigned logo is part of the company's makeover under its CEO Marissa Mayer.
The company said that it wanted a logo that stayed to its roots yet embraced the evolution of its products as the redesigned logo is similar to the old purple one.
The logo was shown both with purple letters and in white with a purple background spelling out the word Yahoo!, with no letters touching and ending with an exclamation point, Fox News reports.
The website had also started a 30-day logo preview programme in which users witnessed a new design of some of the proposed logos each day for a month.
Despite CEO Mayer's acquisition spree of big and small business ventures, the company has not seen any significant lift to its revenue and the 80 percent hike in its stock is mostly driven by the its 24 percent stake in China's Alibaba Holdings Group, the report added.
