Bhartiya Janata Party's leader Yashwant Sinha, who has been languishing in jail since two weeks, has agreed to apply for bail after senior leader L K Advani visited him in jail to persuade him to file a bail plea.

Advani met Yashwant Sinha on Tuesday and asked him to continue his movement against power cuts in Hazaribagh after getting released from jail. Advani had also said that Sinha was capable of being the Jharkhand Chief Minister after his agitation against the power crisis in the state.

The former finance minister was arrested on June 2 after he led a BJP demonstration at the state Electricity Board office in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand.

He had refused to furnish a bail bond which led to him being jailed.
