Man of the match Azhar Ali's maiden double hundred and Yasir Shah's attacking spin bowling helped Pakistan beat Bangladesh comprehensively by 328 runs to clinch the two-match Test series 1-0 on the fourth day in Dhaka on Saturday.
With the victory, Pakistan signed off from their otherwise miserable Bangladesh tour on a winning note. The tourists had earlier suffered 3-0 whitewash in the ODI series and lost the lone T20 match at the hands of Bangladesh.
Azhar Ali made a brilliant 226 in the first innings to steer his side set a mammoth first innings total. Azhar Ali was also named the Man of the series.
Yasir, who took three for 58 in the first innings, once again baffled the Bangladesh batsmen with his leg-spin and googly on the weary pitch to grab four for 73 in the second knock.
Resuming at their overnight position of 63-1, Bangladesh kept losing wickets at regular juncture on day four before finally being bundled out for 221.
Mominul Haque was the only silver lining who scored a fighting 68 while watching wickets falling at the other end. With the knock, Haque joined the elite list of stalwarts, which includes Sir Vivian Richards, Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir, to score 50 or more runs in11 consecutive Tests.
Jubiliant about his team's performance, Pakistan skipper Misbah-ul-Haq said that the team showed a great character after their poor performance in the ODIs and the T20I. He insisted that he was satisfied with the team's performance and it was a much needed win for them.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh skipper Mushfiqur Rahim accepted the fact that they did not play good competitive cricket in this match and were comprehensively beaten by the number three ranked Test team.
Bangladesh will now be squaring off against India for a one-Test and three-match ODI series, starting from June 10.
