Yemen's Shia Houthi rebels have reportedly advanced further into the port city of Aden, despite air strikes by a Saudi-led coalition.
Clashes between the forces loyal to President Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi and rebels have intensified in the town as the two sides fight for control, reported the BBC.
The Red Cross called for a 24-hour ceasefire in Aden, warning that more civilians would die otherwise.
Spokesperson Marie Claire Feghali termed the humanitarian situation in the city "dire" and added that bodies were beginning to pile up on the streets.
Meanwhile, countries including China have stepped up efforts to evacuate their citizens amid the worsening humanitarian crisis.
