Day after speculations went rife about the whereabouts of Yemen's President Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi in the wake of reports suggesting that he had fled his palace in Aden; a report has said that the leader has arrived in Saudi Arabia's capital Riyadh.
The news came as a Saudi-led coalition continued to launch air strikes against Shia Houthi rebels and marked the first confirmation of his location since Wednesday, reported the BBC.
The officials said that he will go to Egypt to attend an Arab league summit on Saturday.
Saudi Arabia launched air strikes in Yemen on Wednesday night, saying that it was "defending the legitimate government" of Hadi.
Iran dubbed the step as "dangerous" as warplanes pounded rebel positions in Yemen's capital Sanaa and an air base near the southern port city of Aden. Reports said that there were civilian casualties.
