A Yemeni Air Force officer was shot dead by suspected al-Qaida militants in the capital of Sanaa.
Colonel Ali al-Dailamy of the al-Dailamy Air Force Base in Sanaa died on the spot after he was shot in his head near a military hospital by two al-Qaida men on a motorbike, the officials said.
This is the second hit-and-run attack in less than 24 hours.
Earlier on Monday, Abdul-Wahab Azzam was killed after he left al-Dailamy Air Force Base for home.
The Yemeni government has repeatedly blamed militants of the al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) for a series of assassinations against army personnel since last year.
Last month, the AQAP bombed a bus which was carrying Air Force personnel near the air base in Sanaa, killing at least 12 people and injuring a dozen of others.
