Yemeni security forces have reportedly shot several suspected Al Qaeda militants disguised as fully-veiled women near the Saudi border.
The militants were killed after one of them shot a soldier who was checking their vehicle, reported the BBC.
While one report quoted a Yemeni official as saying that three militants were killed, another put the number at five.
The vehicle carrying the militants was halted at a border crossing in the Hawdh region of northern Yemen.
The Yemeni faction of Al Qaeda has exploited recent instability in the country to seize territory.
