'Yoga Day declaration a matter of pride for India', says PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday stated that the declaration of June 21 as the International Day of Yoga by the United Nations was a matter of pride for India.

"The @UN declared 21st June as International Day of Yoga. This is a matter of great pride for India. The world came together on the issue. 177 nations were co-sponsors," the Prime Minister said in his third 'Mann ki Baat' address on All India Radio.

Prime Minister Modi further said that he had met all the state chiefs to discuss various issues prevailing in the country.

"Met CMs this time and there was a retreat. No pens, papers, no officials. Only CMs and PM sat as friends and talked about issues," he added.

 

The Prime Minister also called for a "Drug Free India" Movement on the social media today and warned the nation's youth against the menace of drugs, saying 'darkness, destruction and devastation' are the 3Ds of drugs.

He had earlier invited people to talk on the issue on MyGov Open Forum on mitigating the menace and steps to get youngsters out of it.
