"Man Hunt 2014", a mega talent search event and fashion parade, was recently held here to provide a platform to the youth to showcase their talent.
All together 32 models from all the districts took part in the contest, which aims to promote harmony amongst the ethnic people of Manipur and encourage the youth to lead a healthy life.
The event was organized by the Research and Self Employed Academy of Creative Arts in Ahariya and Fashion.
Later the winner received a cash prize of Rs 30,000 and the subtitle winner received a cash of Rs 7000.
" This man hunt contest will benefit the youngsters as they are showcasing not only their talent but also their health and personality. Our traditional dresses are dying so we want to promote them,and we also want to promote our rich handloom products," said Achom Premananda Singh, organizing secretary Man Hunt 2014.

Today, the fashion industry is taking huge strides forward in Manipur. One can find markets bustling with customers who want to buy trendy clothes.
It provides a suitable environment for the growth of the fashion industry in the state. No surprise then that a number of youth have opted for modeling and fashion designing as a career in Manipur.
" When they participate in such events they will avoid using drugs .Instead they will maintain their health. The youngsters often ask us about our traditional attire that need to be preserved," said Indira Devi, a handloom designer.
The country's northeastern region is filled with abundance of talent in modeling and fashion designing.
And events like these will definitely open new vistas for the talented youth of the region.
