Youth Congress joins protest bandwagon against rail fare hike

Indian Youth Congress workers today joined the protest bandwagon against the rail fare hike staging a demonstration in front of Rail Bhavan. The protestors were demanding a roll back of hike in rail fares.

Youth Congress leader Amit Malik said, "Such a steep hike had not been made before in the history of railways, and that is why the Youth Congress workers are protesting in front of the Rail Bhawan." He asked for an immediate roll back of the hike.

This protest is the latest in a series of protests that have erupted across the country by various parties after government announced increase in rail passenger fares by 14.2 percent and freight rates by 6.5 percent.
