Youth Congress members again staged a protest here today against former union external affairs minister K Natwar Singh and condemned his book for making allegedly false statements. They also claimed that Natwar Singh is doing this to please Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Youth congress members had also protested against Natwar Singh's book on Friday.

The protesters not only agitated against Natwar Singh by calling him "the fake king", but also burnt his posters.

Niranjan Rao, Chairman, Information and technology, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) told ANI that they are protesting against the false statements given in Natwar Singh's book.

He said, "Firstly, in his book he says that Rajiv Gandhi did not inform or take permission of the cabinet for sending troops to Sri Lanka, let him know that he was the minister of state at that time and a minister of state will not be present in the cabinet committee at the time of discussion. So how can he give the statement which is totally false".

Rao said that Natwar Singh claims to be the closest to Gandhi family and he is the first person to back stab them when they are out of power, this shows his mentality and untrustworthiness.

"Secondly, in the Volcker report for 'oil for food scam' his (Natwar Singh's) son was the prime accused beyond doubt and they reaped crores of rupees, by doing this he damaged the reputation of both country and party, that is why he was thrown out" said Rao.

Rao added that, "Now he wants some favors from BJP and that is why he is trying to damage the Congress when it is down. He is giving false statements, let him come out with facts". Rao also accused Natwar Singh of violating 'officials' secret act' by divulging secret government information.

Finally, he said, "We condemn him, we condemn his book and in protest we are going to burn the book to show the public that he is a liar.
