The reports of YouTube restoration in Pakistan turned out to be a rumour, as it was not restored even after a section of the media had announced the lifting of the ban, on Tuesday.

The announcement had spurred a glint of happiness amongst internet users, but when thousands of them tried to open the site it was found to be blocked, reports the Daily Times.

Concerned authorities, however, had not made any official announcement regarding the unblocking of the video-sharing site.

Many petitions are already being heard at different courts of the country against the ban on YouTube.

Recently, the Lahore High Court had summoned the Google representative to present their stance on the blasphemous content on the site before the court. It has been reported that Google's representative would appear before the Court soon.
