An impressive 68 from just 29 balls by Indian batting star Yuvraj Singh has helped his side, the Royal Challengers Bangalore post an imposing total of 186-4 to win by 16 runs in their Indian Premier League (IPL) match against the Delhi Daredevils at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Tuesday.
The Indian all-rounder made light of a poor start by the RCB top order by striking a remarkable nine sixes in his innings, including two 'hat-tricks' with three in a row against Imran Tahir and Rahul Shukla in the final over which cost an eye-watering 27 including a wide and a no ball, and four sixes in total.
According to Sport24, the Daredevils, on the other hand, managed just 170-7 in reply and never looked likely to stage a serious challenge despite a lusty 48 from JP Duminy, whose knock came from just 30 balls and contained three fours and three sixes.
Daredevils, coached by Gary Kirsten, are now virtually assured of finishing bottom of the log while the Challengers still have a mathematical chance of reaching the play-offs, the report added.
